Jon was born on April 26, 1969 in Topeka, KS to Ed Michaels and Trena Lee Michaels. He moved to Amarillo as a child, where he graduated from Highland Park High School in 1988. Jon then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, where he served honorably in Desert Storm. Upon his return, he worked various jobs before deciding to pursue a career in Social Work, obtaining his Bachelor's Degree from West Texas A&M. He worked for Texas Panhandle Mental Health for close to 3 years as a social worker. Jon was a devoted father and husband and loved nothing more than time with his family.
SURVIVING FAMILY: wife, Lisa Michaels of Amarillo; children, John Michaels, Austin Michaels, Haley Gaitan, Heidi Macias, McKayla Michaels, Gage Ayala and Aiden Ayala; 2 sisters, Michelle Tyree and husband Shane and Heather Morrison and husband Tommy, all of Amarillo; parents, Ed Michaels of Emporia, KS; mother, Trena Fischer and husband Gary of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Faith Gaitan and Grace, Alexis and Kiera Macias and 1 grandchild on the way.
