Jon Rea, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2025.
Jon proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Army, where he accomplished many achievements throughout his military career, including earning the title of Ranger and retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. His dedication, leadership, and service to his country were a great source of pride to him and those who knew him.
Jon was a friend to everyone he met and never knew a stranger. He was known for his kind heart, hard work, and endless drive to stay busy, always working on a new project. He was a true goofball at heart, loved to make people laugh — often through a well-timed prank or playful joke. He had a special place in his heart for his animals and treated them like family. Above all, he loved his family deeply and was most proud of being a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Rea; his children, Jon Rea Jr., Jesse Rea, Emmett Rea, and Patricia Rea; Daughters in law, Maegen and Lindsee; his grandchildren, Zoey, Rebel, Isabelle, Olivia, Coraline, Ember, Justlyn, Evelyn, Wyatt, and Adaline- who brought endless joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister Marnie and brother Travis. Many nieces and nephews.
Jon was preceded in death by his mother Connie Hodder; his son Brandon Rea; his daughter Lesley Rea; his grandchild Daniel Rea; and his grandfather Lynch and grandfather Rea.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible man he was.
