Jose Rafael Perez

Jose Rafael Perez (Chato), 35 of Bowie, Arizona departed this world Thursday December 23, 2021. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday December 30, 2021, at Power Church, 1344 SE 10th Ave Amarillo, TX. The family will accepting friends at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Wednesday December 29, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Jose Rafael Perez (Chato), (Daddy), (Hulk Smash), (Honey), (Joey) was born November 21, 1986 to Ralph Hernandez and Leticia Perez. Jose graduated from PD class of 2005. He was happily married to Rebecca for 3 years and they were together for 11. Jose was a great father, the best that anyone could ever have. There was not a day that went by that he didn’t work hard to make his dreams come true and to make sure that his babies and wife never went without. He always found a way for everything. He had a heart made of gold and he was always saying the darndest things. Whatever he was thinking is what he would say, good or bad. Family was everything to him, keeping everyone together and always making his kids happy and smiling.

Jose attended welding school from 2016-2017, and graduated in May 2017 with his welding certificate. He was nominated for Honors at Amarillo College. He worked in the oilfield from 2013-2020 and became an owner/operator and was blessed to drive all around the world in his Semi truck Thanos. At work he always went above and beyond. He was proud of his family and friends, and he worked hard to always be able to provide for his people. He is forever going to be missed.

Jose was preceded in death by his daughter Faith (My Angel) Perez.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Perez of Amarillo, their six children, Analise Perez (16), Jordan Robledo (13) Azuriah Perez (11), Mia Perez (10), Jose Perez (7), and Jeramiah Perez (5); Grandma Jovita Leyva of Amarillo; Elizabeth Perez; his father Ralph (Angie) Hernandez; his mother Leticia (Richard) Hannum; sister Victoria (Eric)Woodruff, their children; Javier (Mercedes)Hernandez and children; Janessa Hernandez and son; Little Brother Abbie; Mario (Nicole) Perez and children; Rocio (Lysette) Perez and daughter. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family.

It’s not a good-bye, it’s a see you later.
