Joy Ann Clark, 82, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 28, 2024 at Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S. Western St. with Pastor Lance Herrington officiating.
Joy was born October 30, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas to Claude and Opal Elgin. She graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to earn her RN certification at Amarillo College. She worked for Northwest Texas Hospital in Surgical, and then went on to work for Dr. William Hale for over 25 years until her retirement in 2006.
Joy was an active member of Paramount Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she was very involved with the Quilting Ministry. She was a very talented seamstress and loved giving of her time and talents for that ministry. Joy was also an amazing cook and enjoyed playing games. She always loved time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her daughter, Joy Renee Baxter.
Survivors include her son, Jim Clark and wife Sandi of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Derrick Wade Clark and fiancée Rebekah Duffendack of Amarillo, Dustin Zane Clark and wife Brisa of Borger, and Marc Ashton Baxter of San Antonio; and nine great-grandchildren, Callan, Case, Cannon, Cooper, Rhoen, Penelope, Kaden, Kenley and Kylie.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Paramount Baptist Church Quilting Ministry; or to Harrington Cancer Center.
