Joy Lou Moss

Joy Moss, 61, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her home. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday March 29, at Cox-Rowley Funeral home, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor David Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday March 28, at the funeral home. Joy was born on June 18, 1959 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Earl and Retta Richardson. She worked hard to always provide a good life for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and they loved their “Nana”.  Joy was a mother figure to many and her sons remember many close friends who would seek shelter in the comfort of Joy’s warm heart. She was referred to by many as “Mama Joy”.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Moss of the home; three sons, Clint LaFever and wife Mona of Amarillo, Kenny LaFever and fiancé Jeni of Dumas, and John Moss of Amarillo; two brothers, Wayne Richardson and wife Pam of Amarillo and Joe Richardson and wife Ida of Scott City, Kansas; one sister, Yulonda Short of Amarillo; eleven grandchildren, Mason, Caden, Avery, Alexis, Tatum, Rhylee, Bryson, Hannah, Jaxon, Natalie and Trey; three great grandchildren; Dax, Mallory and one on the way, Zabriel; and a host of additional family and close friends.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Kelly and Robert Moss, Jr., and her daughter in law, Candace Ridley.

Joy had faith that could move a mountain and her family finds comfort in the fact that she is with her Lord in Heaven.  She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
