Joyce Fredenburg Kriling-Leonard, 84, passed into Jesus loving arms on June 2, 2015. She was born in Acme TX on August 16, 1930, the 3rd of 4 daughters of Ethel and B.F. Fredenburg. She graduated from Colorado City High School in Colorado City Texas. Joyce married Bill Leonard on August 30, 2008 after meeting at the Senior Citizen's Dance. She was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ.
In her lifetime, she was many things: wife, mother, grandmother, a practical nurse, before licensing was required, a waitress, cafe manager, foot doctor assistant, cattle truck driver and a dental assistant at the VA dental clinic. She retired from the VA hospital billing department. In her younger years, Joyce loved to bowl at the Amarillo Bowl and carried a high average.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Leonard of Amarillo , 2 sisters, Imogene Nelson of Hobbs NM and Maxine DeMers of Sterling CO, daughters Suzy Corbell Jackson of Canyon, and Sara White Ferris of Spokane WA, son Rory Corbell of Galveston TX, granddaughters Marcy, Michelle and Taryn, grandsons Zach, Josh and Austin, 2 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Fredenburg, and sister Gayle Gustafson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Olivia's Angels and Portales Christian Children's Home, Portales NM.
