Judith "Judi" Unruh

Judith “Judi” Unruh, 78, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1601 I-40. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Judi was born June 21, 1947 in Hillsboro, Kansas to Tom and Helen Barkman. She graduated from Hillsboro High School. She married her husband, Lonnie Unruh on August 30, 1969 in Hillsboro. Together, they raised their family in Kansas before moving to Amarillo in 1994.

Judi worked for Valero in the call center for ten years before retiring in 2012. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and very much enjoyed getting together with family for card games. Judi and Lonnie were members of Trinity Baptist Church for several years. Judi thought of her church family as her own family. She enjoyed breakfasts with church friends over the years.

Judi was a dedicated Christian wife and mother. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She treated her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews like her own kids and grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Barkman; and a brother, Kenneth Barkman.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Unruh; a daughter, Michelle McGovern; a son, Justin Unruh; a sister, Joan Siemens; a brother, Jerry Barkman and wife Margery; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
