Judy Kay Bumgarner, 74, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Judy was born November 29, 1946 in Amarillo, to Nathan Thomas and Audrey Earlean Bybee. She married Jerry “Rebel” Bumgarner on June 18, 1965 in the backyard of their home in Amarillo. Together they shared two beautiful daughters and 40 years of marriage before Rebel passed away in 2005. Judy had a love for arts and crafts. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching HGTV. Judy was a strong willed woman who loved her family fiercely. She was always there for her family when they needed her. Judy was the backbone of the family. She would take care of them and guide them in the right direction. Judy adored her fur babies. She loved to travel to see family in Arkansas and Kansas. Judy loved to water ski, play softball and she was on a bowling league. For many years she had a booth at the local Flea Market called Judy’s Beauty Stop. Judy was an avid collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia, which whom she loved. She had gotten to see him in concert twice. Judy was a very special lady who was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Earlean Bybee; one daughter, Tammie La Rue; one grandson, Nathan Little; and her loving husband Jerry “Rebel” Bumgarner.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Kelly Smith of Amarillo; two brothers, Ronnie Bybee and his wife Rhonda of Amarillo; Lonnie Bybee and his wife Kathy of Benton, Kansas; sister-in-law and friend Joan Hadder of Amarillo; son-in-law Donnie La Rue of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Kira Dunlap and her husband Brett of Amarillo, Wayne Little of Amarillo, Glenn Kirkman of Amarillo, Cash Bumgarner and wife Taylor of Canyon, Kendra Little of Amarillo, Justin Roberson of Amarillo; five great grandchildren, Linza Bumgarner of Canyon, Noah Bumgarner of Canyon, Star Bumgarner of Canyon, Kaylin Montano of Amarillo and Kynslee Montano of Amarillo. Survivors also include her two best friends of life, Shirley Roberts of Amarillo and Connie Creswell of Elk City, Oklahoma.
