Judy Hopkins, 70, of Amarillo passed away Friday, August 30, 2019. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 in the Chapel of Central Church of Christ; 1401 South Monroe. Judy was born September 25, 1948 in Hampton, Virginia to Jimmy James and Faye Nell Brown. She grew up in a Christian children’s home in Portales, New Mexico. Judy married Terry Hopkins on September 20, 1968 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was an Insurance Agent in the call center for Nationwide Insurance for 15 years before retiring. Judy was very accomplished artist and painter, her talent shined in acrylic, watercolor, and oil paintings. She was a member of The Amarillo Watercolor Society and served as the president for two years. Judy and Terry owned and operated Nevess 7 Art Gallery in the old Sunset Center. Judy’s hobbies included gardening, fishing, bird watching, hiking, traveling and photography. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ernie Tibbett. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Terry of the home; two daughters, Dara Griego Hopkins and husband Raul Ramos of Amarillo and Amber Wallace and husband Randy of South Carolina; two sons, Jeremy and Aaron Hopkins both of Amarillo; three brothers, James Brown and wife Melissa of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Michael Brown and David Burch and wife Karin all of Amarillo; three sisters, Mitzie Blakeney and husband David and Judy Sasim both of Fort Worth, Texas and Angie Lawrance and husband Mark of Logan, New Mexico; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
