Julie Ann Helton of Amarillo, Texas passed away on the evening of November 23, 2017 at the age of 56 after her battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, David Helton, and daughter Leslie Patterson, as well as her Mother Betty Tenorio, her two sisters Roxanne and Sabrina, her brother Tim, and her 3 grandchildren Hailey, AJ, and Lainey.
Julie was born on November 29th , 1960 to her father Louis, and mother Betty, as the third of five children. She was always a happy little girl, full of hope, and a desire to help, both people and animals alike. As an adult, she followed her passion for helping those in need, by pursuing a career in nursing. As a nurse, she was introduced to David Helton, who would soon become her husband. Ever since she was a little girl she always said she only wanted two things in life, to help people, and to have a daughter, which she accomplished on May 10th, 1984 as she brought her beautiful daughter Leslie into the world. She was an artist at heart, as many of her hobbies, including painting, stained glass work, as well as needlework were included in a lot of her free time. In her later years, she found a love in modern technology playing video games, both online with children from around the world, and on her mobile devices. She struggled with many illnesses and injuries throughout the years, but it never seemed to bring her down, her spirit always unbreakable, her outlook always full of optimism.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Khaznadar, who was always working his best to help Julie through all of her struggles, to her dear friend and chaplain at NWTHS Mary Margaret, to her pastor and friend Pastor Brian Hesse, and a very special thanks to the nurses of Northwest Texas Hospitals' MICU, and Oncology department who were all amazing in their care of Julie in the extended length of her time there, as well as BSA Hospice.
