June (Mccord) Billington

Velma June McCord Billington, 74, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on January 15, 2023 after a difficult fight with dementia.

Services will be held at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr, on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2pm with Raymond Gonzales officiating. The family will be accepting friends on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

June was born on September 2nd, 1948, to Robert E Lee “Buster” & Willie V McCord in Quitaque, TX.  She graduated from Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX in 1966. She worked for many years in the bookkeeping department of Trinity Fellowship and participated and led many groups within the Singles Ministry in Amarillo, TX.  She was an outgoing member who laughed often and had many close relationships within the church.

In 1967, June met John Ed Willimon in Amarillo, TX.  June & John Ed went on to marry  and have one child, John Ed Willimon Jr in 1969.  They later divorced in 1979.  June later met Jerry Billington in the Singles Ministry of Trinity Fellowship and they later married in 2001, divorcing in 2019.

June was preceded in death by her bothers Johnny Lee, Don, and Dale McCord as well as her sisters Virginia Daniels & Joy Mae Lumpkin.

June is survived by her, son John Ed Willimon Jr & daughter-in-law Kimberly Jo Willimon, granddaughter Kristanna Jo Willimon & husband Brady Keith Willimon, grandson Clayton Wesley Willimon, and soon to be great granddaughter Ariel Lynn Willimon.
