June Lewis

February 20, 1933 — December 28, 2016

June was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Wayside to Albert and Jewel Wesley. She moved to Amarillo as a child, where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. She married James Lewis on Jan. 3, 1953, in Clovis, N.M. The two of them were longtime members of Cliffside Baptist Church. June retired from Amarillo High Plains Dialysis as the administrator before her employment at Sitel. She enjoyed working and longed to return to work as her health would allow. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Rea and Larois Moore; and a son, Jim Lewis. Survivors include her husband, James Lewis of Amarillo; two daughters, Kathy Miller and husband Dave of Florida and Kelly Wilson and husband Steve of San Angelo; three sisters, Lyndel Lundegreen and husband Don and Marilyn Hershinger and husband Don, all of Amarillo, and Alberta Wesley of Casper, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
