Kay Mask, 85, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. Celebration of Life Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2024 at New Life Church, 406 Pittsburgh St. with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating.
Kay was born April 9, 1939 in Quincy, Illinois to Richard and Letha Poffenbarger. She grew up in Iowa before moving to Amarillo in 1974. She worked for Pantex as a line worker for many years. In her spare time, Kay stayed very busy! She was always on the go, rarely ever sitting in one place. She enjoyed square dancing, playing pool and Texas Hold ‘Em, and bowling. She was feisty and flirty and could usually be found with a Bud Light in her hand. Kay was a spitfire and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Doug Poffenbarger and Virgil Poffenbarger.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Murry (Chuck) of Amarillo, and Gretchen Stamper of Lubbock; three sons, Richard Strawhacker (Lisa) of Fort Madison, IA, David Strawhacker (Renee) and Bobby Strawhacker all of Amarillo; a sister, Gretchen Pothovan; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
