Keeton Paige Mcnutt

September 28, 1990 — August 2, 2017

Born on September 28, 1990, in Amarillo, TX. Keeton Paige McNutt, 26, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in West Palm Beach, Florida after a long and hard battle with drug addiction. Keeton attended Amarillo High School and received her GED from Amarillo College in 2010. Her Uncle Shane recalls she had beautiful dimples like her mom; and, Aunt Shelia remembers, as a young girl, she was entertaining with many talents. This is evident in the memory Cousin Mackenzie has that she always wanted to be able to sing and dance like Keeton. Excluding spiders, Keeton had an insatiable love for animals, especially her schnauzer, Chanel. She loved to go fishing with her granddaddy, cuddle his bird dog puppies and catch frogs with Cousin Kara. Living with her dad was special to Keeton in many ways, but the best was probably because he was tolerant of her desire to have various furry pets: a ferret, guinea pig, and hamster. He also let her have various pet fish at his apartment. Another favorite for Keeton was to spend the night with Grandma Helen where they always made play-dough. As she got older, she liked to make oatmeal cookies and assemble the ingredients and utensils before she started her project. The greatest reward was the end result of fresh steaming edible delights. But Keeton's most treasured times were those spent with her brother, Travis, who she admired and looked to as her role model. When he returned to Texas to live two years ago, they shared an apartment where Keeton cooked and cleaned for him and was free of drugs for a few months. Keeton hated being a drug addict. During her 10-year battle with addiction, she was in and out of numerous rehabilitation centers. In this quest to become independent of drugs, she strived to help others. Several of her counselors have shared that she helped others during her stays in the centers. However, Keeton could never completely stay drug-free. Thankfully, when Keeton was seven years old, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. At this time, she was assured of eternal life with him in heaven. In her last conversation with her mother, Sheryl, she said, "Mom, I am coming home". Friends and family thought that meant she was returning to Amarillo. God had a different plan. He knew that her life with him would relieve her of her battle with addiction and drugs. Last Wednesday, August 2, God took Keeton home, home to eternal life-free of battles and pain. Today she is smiling with those dimples and dancing freely with the angels in heaven. She is survived by her loving parents, Barry McNutt and Sheryl Davis, step-dad, Pat Davis, brother, Travis McNutt, step-brother and sister-in-law, James and Jessica Davis, step-sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Clint Green, and three precious nephews: Jude, Jones, and Jax. Also, surviving are paternal grandparents, Neil and Donna McNutt, maternal grandparents, Travis and Helen LaDuke, several aunts, uncles and many cousins. In addition, her fiancé and best friend, Brandon Hancock.
