Amarillo

Keith Murl Hunt, age 72, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026 at B.S.A. Hospital. He was born September 7, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas to A.B. and Geneva Hunt.

Keith will be remembered for his big heart and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. He never met a stranger and everyone was invited to the cookout.

He married Patricia Henderson on October 30, 1971, and had one son Christopher Hunt.

He traveled the world working for several oilfield companies, beginning as a floorhand, moving up to driller and finishing out as a fisherman. He also spent many years volunteering with E.M.S. in Silsbee, Texas. His favorite role though was being Pa Pa to his two precious grandchildren Sophia and Lukas.

Keith spent most of his retirement years near family in Kerrville, Texas. He enjoyed riding his Harley, cooking out and barbecuing, and spending time with family and friends. Once his health started declining he moved to Amarillo and spent his final years closer to and cared for by his brothers, Darrell and Glenn.

He is preceded in death by his parents A.B. Hunt and Geneva Owens; his stepmother Gladys Hunt; his nephew, Jason Hunt; and nephew Bradley Hunt.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Hunt and wife Vanessa; his grandchildren Sophia Hunt and Lukas Hunt; his brother Darrell Hunt and wife Tammye Hunt; his brother Glenn Hunt; his Aunt Lucille Likin; his stepsister Lynell O’Leary and nieces Jennifer Grimes and Aubrie Hunt; and his nephew Brent Hunt.
