Kelly Wayne Powers

Kelly Wayne Powers, 64, of Amarillo passed away in his home Sunday, December 15, 2019. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Kelly was born September 27, 1955 in Amarillo to Vernon Dwayne Powers and Glenna Nadyne Howell. He and Barbara Jena Bell were married November 27, 1996. Barbara remembers when they first met, he knew right away that she was the one for him. Kelly loved to ride Harleys, and also enjoyed collecting them. He had a wide circle of friends that he and Barbara rode with. Kelly enjoyed old western movies, and T.V. shows, with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and Audie Murphy. He was preceded in death by his mother; one uncle, Robert Howell; and one aunt, Blanch Howell. Survivors include his wife Barbara Powers of the home; his father of West Columbia, South Carolina; one sister, Kitty Wilkes and husband Dan of Montreal, Quebec; two daughters, Kandy Lee Powers of Brant, MI, and Cathy Boatright of Amarillo; one son, Jerry Kent Brown of Midlothian; seven grandchildren, Sabreena Hammond, David Jay Hammond, Chelsee Jane Hammond, Abigale Jewel Hammond, Collin Jaccob Hammond, Nathan Boatright and Jessie Boatright; two great grandchildren, Liam Boatright and Lisa Boatright.
