Ken Hertel

Kenneth Hertel, a gentle and loving soul, passed away on April 30, 2026 at the age of 64. 

Known for his kindness and unwavering faith, Kenneth lived a life defined by his devotion to his beliefs, his family, and his beloved animals. Kenneth was a man of deep spiritual conviction. His church was more than just a place of worship; it was his second family. He found immense peace and guidance in reading scripture daily, a practice that anchored him throughout his life. His quiet strength and dedication to his faith were an inspiration to those who knew him. Though Kenneth never married or had children of his own, he considered his animals to be his family. He poured his heart into their care and found great joy in their companionship. He was also a pillar of support for his human family and friends, always eager to celebrate their successes and support them through their personal journeys. 

Throughout his life, Kenneth faced and overcame his own personal battles with grace, choosing to focus on the positive. He was rarely heard saying an unkind word about anyone, preferring to see the best in people. 

Kenneth is reunited in peace with his parents, Benita and Robert Hertel Sr.; his sister, Judy Hertel; and his niece, Amanda Myers. His memory will be cherished by his surviving siblings, Robert Hertel Jr. and Linda Hertel. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, along with a community of friends and church members who were touched by his gentle spirit.

Kenneth enjoyed life to the fullest, finding happiness in the simplest moments spent with the people he loved. He will be deeply missed but remembered for the light and love he brought into the world.
