Kenneth Wayne Scofield

Kenneth Wayne Scofield, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Ken was born April 19, 1951 in La Junta, Colorado to Oren and Jean Scofield. He was the oldest of five kids and was a graduate of Rocky Ford High School in Rocky Ford, Colorado, where he played baseball. Ken went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, Ken married his wife Gayle and they raised two daughters, Tami and Andrea. Ken and Gayle eventually divorced, but that didn’t stop Ken from being an amazing Dad to his girls. He enjoyed taking them on trips to Disneyland and Galveston. In his later years, he never missed his annual trips to see them in Colorado.

After moving to Texas, Ken worked as a shag truck driver for the Swift plant in Cactus and for Tyson Foods in Amarillo, retiring in 2015. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Denver Broncos. He worked puzzles and loved watching movies, mostly action movies; Avatar being one of his all-time favorites. Ken doted over his mother in the last years of her life. He truly dedicated himself to caring for her. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Stan Scofield.

Survivors include two daughters, Tami Rodriguez and husband Hector of Brighton, CO, and Andrea Ramirez of Greeley, CO; three sisters, Pat Newberry and husband Robert of Granbury, TX, Bev Elam and husband Gary of Amarillo, and Kim Ball of Canyon; five grandchildren, Danielle Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez, Marissa Rodriguez, Andrew Ramirez and Amanda Ramirez; and six great-grandchildren, Hailee, Logan, Hunter, Naomi, Adrian, Jr., and Aliyah.
