Kenny was born on August 20, 1937 in Santa Fe, NM to Herman and Doris Stidd. He moved to Pensacola as a child where he attended schools before proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force. Kenny was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base, where he met and married the love of his life, Pat Dilsaver on October 1, 1959. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2014. Upon discharge from the service, Kenny worked as a cement finisher before working in a machine shop to support his family. He then began employment at Sid Stout Ford, where he ran the body shop until purchasing the business and naming it Kenny Stidd Body Shop in the late 70's. He owned and operated his business for over 20 years. After retirement, Stidd moved to his lake house in Fritch, where he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Kenny was known to be generous and helpful to his friends and neighbors. Above all, Stidd was passionate about dirt track racing. Recognizing his talent, Kenny was inducted into the racing hall of fame in Amarillo as well as Texoma. He raced for many years at tracks across the country throughout the years and will be deeply missed by the dirt track community as well as his family.
He is survived by his son, Kenny Stidd, Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica McKee and husband Brandon; great grandson, Jerry McKee and one on the way; sister-in-law, Linda Hawkins; brother-in-law, David Dilsaver, all of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Lu-Lu.
