Kerri Mcclure Course

Kerri McClure Coursey, 44, died Thursday, April 10, 2014. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Tim Triplett officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Kerri was born on May 26, 1969, in Amarillo to Weldon and Helene McClure. She went home to her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2014, after a three year battle with cancer. She was raised in Canyon, where she was a member of the 1988 graduating class of Canyon High School. She attended Howard Payne University, West Texas A&M University as well as Amarillo College. She worked in sales for Panhandle Pre Sort Services and Republic Services. Kerri loved life. She also had a great love for ballet. She danced for many years with the Lone Star Ballet, West Texas A&M Dance Co., and at the musical drama Texas. She had a deep faith and loved her Lord and Savior with all of her heart. She was raised and baptized a member of the First Baptist Church, but has been a member of Trinity Fellowship for the past few years. Kerri married the love of her life, Scott Coursey, on April 22, 2008, in St. Lucia. One of her favorite things was to sit outside and enjoy summer evenings. She will be remembered for her laughter and love for being with her friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Weldon McClure in 2002; her stepson, Andrew Blake Coursey, in 1990; and an older brother, Stephen Edward McClure in 1958. Survivors include her husband, Scott of Canyon; her mother, Helene McClure of Canyon; two stepsons, Steven Coursey and his wife Lindsay of Perryton and Jonathan Coursey of College Station; a brother, Lynn McClure and wife Debbie; her two sisters, Kelly Paulk and husband Larry and Leah Henderson and husband Jody, all of Amarillo; a niece, Hallie McClure and Jaylie Coursey; a nephew, Nate Henderson; and a granddaughter, Jaylie Coursey. The family suggest memorials be to The Hope House, in care of First Baptist Church 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024.
