Kirk was born on December 31, 1931 in Woodward, OK to Isaac William and Viola Belle Clemence. He served his country in the army during the Korean Conflict. He was a brakeman conductor for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 47 years. He was a member of the United Transportation Union. He married Roxie Uhl in Freedom, OK in 1954. He loved his work and was always ready for the next time he was called out. He appreciated sunsets and sunrises as he rode the rails and truly loved nature's beauty. He dedicated over 10,000 hours of volunteer work to the VA. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife Roxie; two daughters, Kayle Clemence-Mayfield and husband Jerry, and Kim Clemence-Fowler and husband Tommy; two granddaughters, Shea Morris and husband Boone, and Maddisun Fowler; a great-grandchild, Greer Morris; his brothers, Max Clemence and wife Bobbie, and Lee Clemence and wife Beverly; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and brothers of the railroad past, present, and future.
