Kshamananda"Charlie" (Dhandi) Chance

Kshamananda “Charlie” Chance, 59, of Panhandle, Texas passed away on June 20, 2023. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday July 8, at Bell Avenue Church of Christ at 1600 Bell St, Amarillo, Texas, 79106 with Pastor Carl Dye officiating.

Charlie was born on August 18, 1963 in Hydrebad, India to Jeevandam and Mariamma Dhandi. Growing up she attended Stanley Girls High School. In 1982 while working as an interpreter she met and fell in love with John Chance, who at the time was overseas doing missionary work. They married January 28, 1982, and it took John until August of 1982 to get her home to the United States. Charlie received her Associate of Science degree in 2007. She and John began attending Bell Avenue Church of Christ in 2012. She and John would travel to Amarillo every Sunday from Panhandle to attend church.

Charlie had a strong love for children. She ran a daycare out of the home for ten years. She had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.  Charlie loved learning about other people’s lives and their culture. She loved to fellowship with Christian friends. Charlie enjoyed knitting and crochet. She was very good with her hands. Charlie treasured spending time with her family. Family meant everything to her.

Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband John Chance of Panhandle; one daughter, Deena Reynolds and husband Jon of Searcy, Arkansas; two sons, Jeremy Chance of Pampa, Texas and Josh Chance of Almyra, Arkansas; three brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren, Justin, Jacob and Samuel, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family suggests memorials be made in Charlies name to Amarillo Bible Chair, c/o Bell Avenue Church of Christ, 1600 Bell St, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
