Lana Era (Williams) Heronemus

Lana Heronemus, 72, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus, 6100 S Soncy Road Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2022.

Lana was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 17, 1949 to Jake and Era Williams. Growing up, she lived in Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas before settling down in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1967, and attended Amarillo College. She married the love of her life, Clarence Heronemus, on June 14, 1969. They were married for 52 ½ years before she passed. Lana and Clarence had a son, Jason, who was born June 18, 1974. She worked for Northwest Texas Hospital, State Farm Insurance, and Texas Trading Company during her career. She also ran her own jewelry company where she traveled to many trade shows in the area. Lana was a collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and had a large collection. She loved to go camping, as well as riding on dirt bikes and motorcycles. Lana and Clarence enjoyed going on many bike rides on their Goldwing motorcycle. Lana was a fan of anything red, and was known as the red lady. Her request is that you wear red when you attend the service.

Lana was preceded in death by her father Jake, her sister Tammy, and her brother James, and her beloved grand-dog Riley.

Survivors include her husband Clarence, her son Jason, and her mother Era all of Amarillo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to Snak Pak 4 Kids or the American Cancer Society in memory of Lana.
