Lanelle Weddel

LaNelle was born March 4, 1924 in Grapevine, TX to J.H. and Edna Ruth Smith. She graduated from Grapevine High School and worked in the Grapevine Post Office. She married Amos Weddel in Grapevine in 1947 and they moved to Memphis in 1949. The daughter of a Baptist preacher she accepted the Lord as her Savior as a teenager and later renewed her eternal vows at the First Assembly of God in Memphis where she had been a member since 1956. For the last 10 years, due to health issues, she lived in Amarillo with her son and daughter-in-law. Sometime in the early morning hours of July 29, 2014 she received her ultimate healing. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Arbors Rehab Facility and Home Care Connections for their loving care to LaNelle. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. She is survived by her son: Sport and wife Karen of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren: Janae Dale and husband David of Wheeler, Alyssa Hamburg and husband Derek of Burleson; 3 great grandchildren: Matt and Ben Dale and Haylee Hamburg; one sister: Jimmie Lake and husband Lonnie of Altus, OK; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews other relatives and many good friends.
