Tyler Street, Amarillo, Texas 79101, with Robby Barrett officiating, followed by a private burial. Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
Laura was born on July 20, 1962, in Lone Star, Texas, to Mary and Bill Dunlap. She was the second of four sisters—Brenda, Rose and Becky—and the girls grew up in Gainesville, Texas, where Laura graduated from Gainesville High School in 1980.
As a “latch-key kid,” Laura often stepped into the caretaker role for her younger sisters - preparing meals, keeping watch over them, and supporting them with a nurturing heart far beyond her years. This gentle, selfless spirit became the defining thread of her life. Laura loved others through quiet compassion, unwavering support, and a servant’s heart that never wavered.
Laura earned her associate degree from Cooke County College in 1982 and later her bachelor’s degree from the North Texas State University in 1986.
Laura was a long-time and deeply devoted member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo for more than 30 years. Her faith guided every step of her life. She and her husband, David, prayed and read the Bible together daily, grounding their marriage in faith, gratitude, and the steady love of the Lord.
In 2014, Laura married the love of her life, David Bergmann, at First Baptist Church. Their relationship was gentle, steady, and full of grace - a love the Lord brought together in His perfect timing.
Laura was a warm and gentle soul who treated every person she met with deep respect and genuine pride. She radiated kindness and carried a quiet strength that made others feel valued and safe in her presence.
Above all, Laura cherished her role as “Aunt Laura.” It was truly the treasure of her life. She adored her nieces and nephews - encouraging them, praying for them, and loving them with her whole heart. Being their aunt was not simply a title; it was her calling, and she lived it with unmatched devotion.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Dunlap; her sister, Brenda Dyer, and husband Billy; and her nephew, Craig.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Bergmann, of the home; her sisters, Rose Ingerson and husband John, of Amarillo, and Becky Dunlap, of Amarillo; her nephews, Ben Ingerson and wife Micah, of Amarillo, and Mathew Day, of Pampa; her niece, Jordan Kang and husband June, of Lubbock, Texas; her uncle, J.L. Davis and wife Barbara, of Chandler, Arizona; and her aunts, Faye Waldrep, of Breckenridge, Texas, and Lorene Hamilton, of Claremore, Oklahoma.
