Laurel Miller

Laurel was born on December 12, 1926 in Lubbock to Dwight Moody and Blanche Smith. She was raised in Panhandle before moving to Amarillo, where she graduated from Amarillo HIgh School in 1944. She married Henry "Nick" MIller on September 6, 1946 in Amarillo. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, and being outdoors, working crossword puzzles and reading. Most of all, she loved being "Gran" to her grandchildren. She and Nick have been devoted members of First Baptist Church since 1958. She is survived by her husband, Nick MIller of Amarillo; 2 sons, Dale Miller and Richard MIller and wife Connie of Amarillo; daughter, Laurelee Oakley and husband Jay and sister, Carol Ann Mulkey and husband Rex, all of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Nick and Terri MIler of Houston, Jody and husband Brian SImpson of DImmitt, Lindsay Parsons and Leah Dawson and husband Rhett of Amarillo and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Douglas Smith
