Lee Bradshaw, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, August 2, 2020. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Miller of Crossroads Country Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Lee was born April 28, 1936 in Wills Point, Texas to Jewel and Jean Bradshaw. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Dallas. He went on to earn an associate of applied science degree from Amarillo College and obtained a certificate in law enforcement technology. He also earned a bachelor degree in occupational education from Wayland Baptist University and achieved a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from West Texas State University. Lee married Joy Browning on September 5, 1953. He worked for the Farmer’s Branch Police Dept. before they moved to Amarillo in 1964. He began working for Amarillo Police Dept. that year. He was a co-founder of the Panhandle Regional Police Academy, and taught criminal justice at Amarillo College. He also worked with Amarillo Emergency Services. Lee retired as Amarillo College Chief of Police in 1999. Lee was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society. Lee and Joy were members of South Georgia Baptist Church since 1981, and have been members of Crossroads Country Church for the last few years. While at SGBC, Lee was involved in the missions program, travelling to Mexico for building projects. He was also a Red Cross volunteer for many years. The family wishes to extend special thanks to BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their attentive care of Lee. Lee’s family takes comfort in knowing that this is not the end for Lee, it is just the beginning. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Dorothy Parsons; and two brothers, Ronnie Bradshaw and David Bradshaw. Survivors include his wife, Joy Bradshaw; two daughters, Kim Hall and Michelle Kucinski and husband David all of Amarillo; a sister, Linda Pouliotte and husband George of Madison, FL; two grandsons, Kasey Dalrymple of Amarillo, and Justin Kucinski and wife Hailey of MT; and seven great-grandchildren, Peyton, Anna, Tyra, Justin Jr, Harper, Bridger, and Norah. The family suggests memorials may be made to Crossroads Country Church, 14425 FM 1541, Amarillo, TX 79118.
