Lena Singleterry Maxey

Lena Singleterry Maxey was born on June 4, 1915 in Dallas County to Jep Edward and Sally Mays. She married Ralph E. Singleterry on October 21, 1935. She worked as a homemaker from 1935 to 1954, as a sales clerk in a local dress shop from 1955 to 1968, worked in the family business from 1969 to 1982 and returned to her role as homemaker in 1983. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church for 10 years and was a member of Howardwick Baptist Church for 25 years, where she served as secretary. She is survived by her 4 children, Dewayne and wife Paula of Huntsville, Eddie and wife Paula of Guymon, OK, Dale and wife Judi Bippus of Amarillo and daughter, Judy Spiker of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years; 6 sisters, including her twin sister; 3 brothers; son-in-law, Jim Spiker; grandchild, David Singleterry and great grandson, Ty Spiker.
