Lenda Juandell Dougherty

Forever known for her great love of beautiful yards and clean things, Lenda Juandell Dougherty passed from this world on May 18, 2026. The third child of Richard O. and Lura Lee Gibbs Wade was born in Clovis, New Mexico, September 2, 1937. Upon losing her mother in early infancy, Juandell was raised by her Dad, who fulfilled a death bed request by marrying Lura Lee’s best friend, Ellen M. Ellis Wade. Shortly after graduating Valedictorian of the Clovis High School class of 1955, Juandell married her high school sweetheart, E. Noel Dougherty. Shortly after making their first home in Clovis, they swiftly moved on to live the ranch life in Nara Visa, moving back to Clovis for a short time, and then eventually settling on her family farm north of Melrose, where they raised their 4 children for several years. After the oldest two left home, the family relocated closer to Clovis for several years, eventually choosing to retire just outside of Rociada, New Mexico, near Tres Ritos, the place they enjoyed their honeymoon and numerous family vacations over the years. Although Noel passed away in 2008, Juandell remained in the dream home they had built together in the mountains until just recently, when she transitioned to Amarillo, Texas, to be closer to family.

While raising their 4 children in Melrose, Juandell spent many hours and miles commuting to Portales as she obtained her degree through ENMU, then went on to a 20+ year career as a Nursing Home Administrator at various facilities in Clovis.

Juandell is survived by her 4 children, Dennis & Becky Dougherty of Marana, AZ; Skip & Dru Constantine of Tuscola, TX; Dick & Laurie Holland of Canyon, TX; and Wade Dougherty of Las Cruces, NM, 12 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, husband, and one daughter-in-law.
