Leo Jack

October 31, 1937 — September 18, 2014

Sonny was born on October 31, 1937 on the Choctaw Indian reservation in Wilburton, OK to Andrew and Lucille Jack. He was raised in Oklahoma before moving to Amarillo at the age of 17. Sonny enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956. He proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1960. He married Janeice Hunsucker on January 9, 1960 in Amarillo. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Asarco then Pantex for a total of 25 years. Sonny was extremely proud of his Choctaw Indian heritage and he and Janeice attended the annual Labor Day Choctaw Festival for over 20 years. He loved the outdoors, taking many fishing and camping trips with friends and family. His family will always remember how he was able to fix anything. He loved woodworking and working in his shop, and they will all remember Papaw sitting on his porch whittling. Most importantly, he adored his family and loved nothing more than spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Janeice Jack of Amarillo; 2 sons, Randy Jack of Panhandle and Cody Jack and wife Ronda of Amarillo; daughter, Connie Kennedy and husband Tommy of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way and many other family members and close friends. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Doyle, Rickey and Doki Jack; sister, Bobbie Thomas and a special granddaughter, Tamra Kennedy.
