Leona "Butch" Helen (Seher) Goodman

Leona “Butch” Goodman, 86, of Amarillo passed away February 12, 2022. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday February 18, 2022 at Washington Avenue Christian Church 3800 S Washington with Pastor Jim Shelburne officiating.

Leona was born December 22, 1935 in Clinton, OK to August and Bertha Seher. She attended Clinton High School in Clinton, OK. Leona married Jimmie Goodman on May 23, 1953 in Clinton, together they shared 67 years of marriage, one son and many memories to be cherished. Leona was a stay at home mom taking care of kids. She later went on to be the manager at Tender Crust Breads. Leona was always encouraging others. She always had a smile for everyone, and had a great laugh. Leona was a faithful, loving wife, and mother. Family was the love of her life. She was always there for her family and friends. Leona was a member at Washington Avenue Christian Church for 64 years. Where she taught Sunday school classes, taught the children’s choir with her best friend, Claudia Harris. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one sister; and her beloved husband Jimmie.

Survivors include her only son Travis Goodman of Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren, Ashley Gifford and husband Jeremy of Amarillo, TX; Kayla Carter and husband Sam of Boyd, TX; four great-grandchildren, Gavin; Ivy; Colton and Kesleigh.
