Leora B. "Shorty" Mitchell

Shorty was born November 18, 1932 in Phillip, South Dakota to Augusta and John Brooks. She was of Methodist faith and loved dancing. She was considered by her family and friends to be "a live wire". For over 50 years, she worked as a grocer clerk and at the VFW Post #1475. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Mitchell in February 1975 and by a grandson, Adrian Mitchell. She is survived by her children, Vickie Foley and husband Jim of Amarillo and Tommy Mitchell and wife Linda of Robinson, TX; also surviving her are three grandchildren, Amanda Grant and husband Shannon, Alex and Ethan Mitchell; and by a great grandchild, Charles Vinson
