Linda Marie (Anderson) Blaisdell

Linda Marie Blaisdell, 76, of Amarillo Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023. No services are scheduled at tis time.

Linda was born January 10, 1947 in Austin Texas, the beloved only child to Haddon Rodney and Alice Christene Anderson.  She was raised primarily in west Texas and graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, 1965.  Following high school Linda chose to persue her love of music and studied voice at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. In 1967 she left school to embark on a new journey as a wife and then a mother.  Before long this union would bring about the birth of Jennifer Leigh and later, James Lankford III.

After many years as a stay at home mom, necessity and her love of flowers and plants led to a career in lawn and garden. She began first as a sales associate and later rose to assistant manager for Wolfe Nursery. It was here she met the man she recognized as her soulmate in James L. Blaisdell.  The two were united in marriage on May 26, 1984 in Ft. Worth Texas and shared forty years as friends and partners. Job changes throughout the years allowed them to explore new cities, several states and to make friends wherever they went.

Linda was always gregarious, generous of spirit and never met a stranger. Whether it was boyfriends or girlfriends of her children, business associates of her husband, or eventually her large family which included a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren, Linda was always welcoming and loved to host. She enjoyed decorating for and celebrating each season of the year, often culminating in her favorite - large family Christmases.

Linda was a unique person, and she filled a special place in the lives of those she loved, befriended and even those she encountered in her daily life.  And so, remember Linda.  Remember God’s love, especially  for her.  Remember God’s love, especially for you. And live in gratitude for the gift of life and for the promise - not the wish or the dream - but the promise of life eternal.

In addition to countless friends across the country, Linda is survived by her loving husband Jim Blaisdell, her two children and their spouses, daughter Jennifer and Joel Stahmer of Midland Texas; son James “Pepper” and Charmaine Jay of a Hanford California.  Nanny is also survived by grandchildren Aaron Stahmer; Asher, Haddon and Lincoln Jay.
