Linda Blake, 67, of Amarillo, died Friday, October 20, 2017. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Monday, October 23, 2017 at Accelerate Church, 2615 Paramount Blvd. with Pastor Jeremy Pfeil officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home. Linda was born October 12, 1950 in Las Cruces, NM to Grady and Ellen Wilson. She earned her bachelor of fine arts degree from West Texas State University in 1974. She married Bruce Blake the same year. Linda worked for Amarillo College in the 1970's as assistant registrar. She substitute taught for AISD for several years. She dedicated most of her life to raising her kids, and caring for her family. In 1996, Linda acquired her nail tech license and worked as a nail tech for a few years. She was a talented painter, and enjoyed crochet. She will be greatly missed. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Melissa Prater; and a close friend, Vickie Hammack. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Blake; two daughters, Dr. Brooke Blake of Galveston, and Lauren Plemons and husband Ben of Amarillo; two brothers, John Wilson of Amarillo, and Kevin Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK; a niece, Allison Prater; a nephew Seth Prater, nephew and niece Dylan and Meg Wilson; two grandchildren, Sam and Johnathon Plemons, and one on the way. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association @ diabetes.org; or to Accelerate Church, 2615 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109.
