Lizzie Titues

May 21, 1927 — November 30, 2016

Lizzie was born in Emhouse, Texas. She lived most of her adult life in Lubbock. She worked as a certified nurse's aide, and also as a cook. She has lived in Amarillo for the past 13 years. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Khaznadar and BSA Hospice of the Southwest. Survivors include one son, Freddie Earl Hayes of Lubbock; seven daughters, Beatrice Hayes of Lubbock, Virse Hayes and Louise Releford both of Duncanville, Catharine Loache and husband Mark of Mississippi, Vinna Brown of Cedar Hills, Peggy Brown of Commerce, and Margaret Brown and husband Johnnie Joe of Amarillo; her god-children, Joyce Frost, Mary Welch, Mary Gathier, Edna Neal, and Roosevelt Jackson, all of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ulyseuss Hayes, and Curly Titues; one granddaughter; and companion, Edward Barnes. The family requests memorials be made to St. John Baptist Church, 2301 NW 14th St, Amarillo, TX 79107.
