Lois Marie Harris

Lois Marie Harris, 91, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Washington Avenue Christian Church; 3800 Washington Street, Amarillo 79110. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home; 4180 Canyon Drive. Lois was born December 6, 1926 to Frank and Ruby Vestal in Longton, Kansas. Lois married Chet Harris from Ft. Dodge, Kansas on March 25, 1944. She was a Christian woman and homemaker that was dedicated to her family. Lois was especially dedicated to the love of her life Chet to whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Lois enjoyed her vacations to Hawaii and was known for her incurable sweet tooth. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Lois will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chet Harris; daughter, Lanna Johnson; brothers, Francis, Junior and Robert Vestal and sisters, Jean Persinger and Patsy Lea Vestal . Lois is survived by her son, Larry Harris and wife Claudia; daughter, Lisa McGehee and husband DeLoyd; brother, Gary Vestal and wife Tina; grandchildren, Mike and Olen Harris, Jamie Harrington, Eric and Mark Johnson and Jana Bateman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and her special great-great-granddaughter, Dottie. The family encourages memorial donations to St. Judes Children's research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your local Disabled American Veteran Organization.
