Loretta Fern Woodard

Loretta Fern Woodard, 89, of Amarillo passed away on February 14, 2026. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday February 21, 2026 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor Craig Albracht officiating. The family will be accepting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday February 20, 2026 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Loretta was born to Wayne and Opal Shaw on November 3, 1936 in Binger, Oklahoma. She attended school in Cordell, Oklahoma. Loretta moved to Hereford, TX in 1960 where she worked at Holly Sugar for many years. Then she went to work for her parents at Nif T Foods until she retired and went to work part time at Yiotas Boutique. Loretta volunteered at Hereford Senior Citizen for several years, decorating Christmas trees and was a volunteer where ever she was needed. She served on the Board of Directors, several times at the Hereford Senior Citizens. Loretta started the Hereford Elegant Red Hatters in 2004 where she served as “Queen Mother”. She later moved to Amarillo in 2011. Loretta was a member of Hillside Christian Church where she was a greeter and a communion server. She enjoyed going to lunch with friends and spending quality time with her family. Loretta will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Wayne and Opal Shaw; her loving husband John Woodard.

Survivors include her two sons; Richard Spears and his wife Stefanie of Boerne, TX; Steve Spears and wife Jennifer of Weatherford, TX; her stepson Rob Woodard and his wife Sandy of Lawton, Ok; her brother, Ken Shaw and his wife Sandie of Oklahoma; her six grandchildren; her six great grandchildren; and her five great-great grandchildren. Survivors include a host of other family members and dear friends.
