Lou Jane Martin

Lou Jane Martin, 84, of Amarillo, passed away on October 29, 2022 in Amarillo at her home. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday November 2, 2022 at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Greg Corona officiating. Lou Jane will be available for viewing at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday November 1, 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Lou Jane was born on July 16, 1938 in Panhandle. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1958 and attended college in Abilene were she received her bachelor degree. Lou Jane was married her high school sweetheart on April 8, 1961 in Amarillo. Together they enjoyed camping and traveling with family. They traveled through the country to many different places including Hawaii and Canada. Lou Jane was employed by the Amarillo School District for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting, and she was a talented artist. She loved to paint. Lou Jane was loved by so many and will be missed.

Lou Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin sister, Sue Jean Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, Don Martin of the home; two daughters, Pamela Gooding (Wade) of Fort Worth and Penny Martin; one niece, Elizabeth Thompson; a host of extended family and close friends.
