Luther William "Luke" Faulkinberry, 75, of Hartley, went to Heaven on Friday, December 8, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas, from complications with double pneumonia. No services are scheduled at this time. Luke was born March 27, 1942 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Lenerd and Hattie Faulkinberry. He attended high school in Oklahoma City, Okla. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou Hunter on June 2, 1962. They have a son, Lyle W. Faulkinberry and his wife Kim of Harlem, Montana. They have a daughter, Lynn Faulkinberry Bruns and her husband Mark of Dalhart. To these marriages were born four grandchildren, Tyler Faulkinberry resides in Heaven. Taylor Faulkinberry Richardson and her husband Austin of Harlem, Montana, Zachary Bruns and Trey William Bruns of Dalhart. Luke was a true cowboy. He managed cattle and buffalo ranches in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Being a rancher, he ran heavy equipment, and drove all types of trucks, from beef to jet fuel. He loved his buffalo, cattle, and horses. Most of all, he loved his family. He was always involved in their lives. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Luke taught about cattle, horses, and leather crafts in 4-H. He was involved in roping clubs, and putting on rodeos in Three Forks, Montana. He loved cutting cattle. He and Lynn competed in team penning and roping together. He loved being a sideline coach for Lyle's football and wrestling. Luke and Mary Lou worked as a team for over 55 years. His last words were "I Love You". In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Luke is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Smith and Linda Stolhand; two brothers, Teddy Faulkinberry and Jerry Faulkinberry; and two brothers in Christ, Larry Dean Watkins of Stilwell, Okla., and Jimmy Watkins of Tulsa, Okla.
