Luther Donald “Don” Criswell, 81, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Westcliff Bible Church, 5300 W. Amarillo Blvd. with Dr. Stephan Waterhouse officiating. Don was born August 28, 1937 in Amherst to John Weldon and Esther Lee Criswell. He graduated from Lubbock High School. He married Peggy Sue Somers in Lubbock on August 18, 1956. Don and Peggy have lived in Amarillo since 1983. Don made his career in the cattle industry and communications, retiring in 2007. Don was the ultimate recycler. He was very creative with lighting and landscaping. He had a green thumb and enjoyed all types of woodworking in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David Criswell. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Criswell; two daughters, Vicki Fairley and husband Chris of Lantana; and Denise Holcombe and husband Mark of Ft. Collins, CO; three sons, Dennis Criswell and wife Tonya of Amarillo, Bryan Criswell and wife Nancy of Borger, and Larry Criswell and wife Janet of Prescott Valley, AZ; a brother, Doug Criswell and wife Darla of Anton; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
