Chris was born February 25, 1921 in Gowrie, Iowa to C.V. and Esther Christianson. He served his country during WWII and Korea with both the Navy and Air Force as a flight navigator. A truly patriotic person, he was proud of his duty to country, and wanted to be remembered as having high integrity and perseverance. In February of 1946, he married Helen E. Wilson. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He was an extreme racing enthusiast, having built cars 43 and 44 respectively, for David Brown and Billy Joe Smith. His involvement with the Amarillo Speed Bowl brought many new acquaintances and close friends, such as Lyndon Moss. He also served in a business venture with the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma City, as well as worked alongside Jack Sisemore at Jack Sisemore's Traveland. His latest business venture had partnered him with Gary Owens in a utility auditing firm. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 3 sons.
He is survived by 3 children: Patti Foster of Iowa City, IA, Sky Lightheart of Sandpoint, ID, and John Christianson of Amarillo; daughter-in-law: Darlene Christianson of Amarillo; 2 special friends and business acquaintances: Gary Owens and Jack Sisemore.
