Mabel Vieth, 95, of Amarillo passed away on August 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5005 I-40. The family will receive visitors and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Mabel was born on January 9, 1929 in Happy, Texas to Louis and Amelia Spiser. She graduated from West Texas High School in Canyon. She worked at Boys Ranch for several years. She married Kenneth Vieth at Trinity Lutheran church, Amarillo on January 4, 1952. Mabel and Ken celebrated over 72 years of marriage together. She enjoyed traveling the world while supporting Ken's efforts as he served in the United States Air Force. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an avid collector of Precious Moments, Hummels and various other memorabilia. Mabel was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran church in Amarillo. She was beloved and will be greatly missed.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and 2 infant sons, Benjamin Vieth Jr. and David Vieth.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Vieth of the home; her two daughters, Laurie Clayton (Dennis) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Beth Hanssen (the late David) of Prosper, Texas; her two sons, Michael Vieth (Tanya) of Justin, Texas and Mark Vieth (Regina) of Amarillo; Eleven Grandchildren, Blythe Eggleston (Michael), Sean Clayton (Kelly), Stephen Hanssen (Kelly), Benjamin Hanssen (Alaina), Amanda Stark (Shawn), Christopher Vieth (Madelyn) Lauren Graham (Justin), Eric Vieth (Katlynn) Emily Roys (Colt), Taylor Vieth and Trevor Vieth; 19 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Trinity Lutheran School of Amarillo.
