Machelle Black, 66, passed away in the arms of her loving husband and children on July 9, 2026. Funeral services are at 2:00 PM Tuesday July 14, 2026 at Trinity Fellowship Chuch - Hollywood Campus, 5000 Hollywood Road with Pastor Tyler Leavitt and Jelani Lewis officiating. WIth a private family burial to follow at Llano Cemetery. The family requests that you wear bright colors to celebrate her life.

Machelle was born June 3, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas to Dale and Ester Pedigo. She was a graduate of West Texas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. As a teacher for over 30 years, she poured her heart and faith into her profession. Machelle loved her students as her own and many would return to visit their beloved “Miss Black.”

She married the love of her life, Victor Black, on August 7, 1981 in Amarillo, Texas. This August, they would have shared their 45th anniversary together. Machelle and Victor had many adventures around the world and in the Colorado mountains. During a trip to Ephesus, her love of Ephesians became tangible, cementing itself as her most cherished book of the bible. Specifically, she loved Ephesians because it speaks to our identity in Christ and was a constant reminder of who she was.

Together, Machelle and Victor also ministered to countless couples and families. As a young woman, she had experienced pregnancy loss. From those losses a deep burden was birthed to walk alongside hopeful mothers as well as women who experienced pregnancy loss. Because of Machelle’s fervent and effectual prayers, many women have come to know the miraculous gift of motherhood.

Machelle was blessed to have four children, Erin, Victor, Kelsey and Sarah. Through their marriages, she lovingly gained 4 more children, Jelani, Amanda, RJ and Justin. As a result, Machelle is Mimi to 14 grandchildren...so far. Some of her favorite Mimi moments have been feeding birds, reading books, and sitting together and talking about Jesus in her blue chair. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren enjoying the chaos that she had always dreamed of. Machelle dedicated her time praying and waring in the spirit for her family.

Machelle is preceded in death by her father, Dale Pedigo; her mother-in-law Daisy Black; father-in-law William Bill Black.

She is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Victor Black; eldest daughter Erin Lewis and husband Jelani, and their four children, daughter Judah, son Jadon, daughter Jordyn and son Justus; son Victor Black II and wife Amanda, and their four children, son Victor III, son Bear, daughter Eliza, and daughter Glorianna; daughter Kelsey Morgan and husband RJ, and their four children, son Luke, daughter Emma, son Asher, and son Titus; daughter Sarah Foshee and Justin, and their two children, daughter Addelyn, and son Daxton; mother Ester Pedigo; brother George Pedigo and wife Sandra, and their two daughters Aubrey and Ashton and their families.

Machelle is deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and treasured in our hearts. We know that Machelle is in the presence of her King in glory. Though we say goodbye for now, as she would often reply, “I’ll see you in a lil bit.”

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place.” – 2 Corinthians 2:14
