Maedean Geoffroy

Maedean Geoffroy, 90, our beloved "Mamaw", of Amarillo, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2525 Wimberly Rd. with Assoc. Pastor Nick Garner officiating. Inurnment will be at 3:30 pm following the memorial service at Llano Cemetery. Maedean was born at home on November 27, 1927 in McCaulley, Texas to Willard and Dorothy "MeMe" Maberry. She married Lloyd Geoffroy on August 3, 1946 in Borger. Maedean worked as a city clerk in Borger for three years, and also as a secretary for five years at Pantex. They moved to Amarillo in 1959. Maedean worked side by side with her husband in the Oil and Gas industry for many years. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved caring for her family. Maedean was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for 57 years. She and Lloyd loved to travel for pleasure and business in their RV, and enjoyed playing golf on some of the nation's most spectacular courses. For a short time, they enjoyed a residence in Hawaii on the Kona coast. More importantly than anything, she truly loved communicating with her children grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and instilling upon them a true walk with the Lord, by demonstrating unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include two sons, Joe Geoffroy and wife Barbara, and Edd Geoffroy and wife D.J. all of Amarillo; a daughter, Gail Lindsey and husband Barry of Angel Fire, NM; a brother, Don Potts and wife Johnnie of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Morgan and husband Jim of Hamlin; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church at 2525 Wimberly Road, Amarillo Texas.
