Manuel Jones Jr.

Manuel Jones Jr., 72, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Grace Church with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Manuel was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Bryan to Manuel Sr. and Berdell Jones. He moved to Floydada as a child, where he attended school. Manuel married Esther Jacobs on Oct. 27, 1961, in Petersburg. She preceded him in death in 1998. Manuel worked as a truck driver for more than 30 years. He hauled automobiles until his retirement in 2004. He was car enthusiast and spent his life hauling cars, working on cars and collecting cars. Above all, Manuel loved others. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He was known for his generous personality and willingness to help others. He also was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather; two sons, Shawn and Brandon Jones; two daughters, Dolly and Joy Jones; and his sister, Shirley and her husband Ralph. Survivors include a son, Manuel Jones III; two daughters, Vicki Jones-Jenkins and husband Wesley of Chicago and Aleta Jones and husband Carlos of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
