Maretta "Marty" Nichols

Maretta “Marty” Nichols, 80, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Viewing will be from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday, and 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Graveside inurnment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later time. Marty was born August 5, 1939 in Wheeler to Marvin and Clydelia Burress. She graduated from Pampa High School. She married Wayne Nichols on May 28, 1959. Marty worked for Garner Motors and Texas Tractor and Equipment. In her spare time, she loved to shop and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Marty was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Billie Burress, and Donald Burress. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Nichols; her daughter, Rhonda De Ceuster and husband Tim of Amarillo; her sister, Phyllis Burress-Johnson of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Kelci Whatley and husband Ryan, Dana Messer and husband Tyler, Tre Norton, and Kresha Norton all of Amarillo; and eight great-grandchildren, Kameron, Sophia, Mali, Nash, Baux, Samuel, Rowdy, and Creed.
