Margaret Bonner Shields

Margaret was born July 6, 1924 in Arlington, Kansas to R.E. and Ruth Bonner. She grew up in Panhandle, and graduated from Panhandle High School. She attended business school in Amarillo after high school. She married C.L. Shields in Amarillo in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2000. Margaret worked at American National Bank in Amarillo for several years. She and her husband owned and managed Virginia St. apartments since 1967. Margaret had an incredible green thumb. Her passion was gardening, and she loved beautiful flowers. Survivors include her two sons, Mike Shields and Patrick Shields, both of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be made to the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Dr., Amarillo, TX 79106.
