Marge Ray

Marge was born on July 23, 1928 in Throckmorton to C.E. and Helen Watts. She moved to Hereford as a child, where she graduated from Hereford High School. She worked as the secretary for Hereford Avenue Baptist Church for over 11 years, before moving to Amarillo. Here, she worked in retail at Blackburn's Clothing and Hollywood for many years. Marge married Jim Ray in 1979, he preceded her in death in 2002. She had a passion for shopping, and her "shop and return" routine will forever be remembered by her family. In her free time, Marge loved to dance at the Caravan and was a music enthusiast. She is survived by her children, Michael Kemp of Amarillo, Teresa Compton and husband Roger, Sam Tignor and husband Clarence, Jimmie Ray and wife Buffy; grandchildren, Katrina, Jason, Alisa, Ashley, Michael, Nehemiah, Cheri and Rebecca Ray; niece, Kellee Murrell of Hereford and her beloved dog, Willie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim Ray; her sister, Pat Pena and her son, Danny Kemp
