Margie Rae Cranmer

Margie was born in July in Gamerco, New Mexico, to Marion and Julia (Tracy) Reaves. Her father worked for the Gallup American Coal Company and her mother taught on the Zuni Indian Reservation. She graduated from high school at 16 years of age. She attended business school in Oklahoma City and returned to Amarillo for employment. She married James Lee Cranmer on Valentine's Day in 1947 in Amarillo. Margie worked for Amarillo Speech, Hearing, and Language Center and loved her job and her friends for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L (J.L.), her father and mother, Marion and Julia Reaves, and her brother, Frank Reaves. Survivors include her daughter, Sydney Roach and husband, Wayne of Amarillo, Texas; a grandson, Kerry Ashford and wife, Charissa Harden, of Canyon, Texas, two granddaughters, Rebecca Langford and husband, Troy, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Roach and boyfriend, Tony Olivito of Long Beach, California and a great grandson, Elijah Ashford, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family wants to thank staff at the BSA Hospice, and the Craig Senior Living staff-too many to mention-for their kindness and compassionate attention to Margie's needs in the Memory Care Unit and in her final days.
