Margie was born July 9, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana to S.B. and Cecil Shirley. She married L.R. Wynne in 1946 in Shreveport. Together Margie and her husband moved to Amarillo in 1952. She and L.R. celebrated 57 years of marriage. She worked for Amarillo Security Control, their family business, as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2006. Margie enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and entertaining in her home. She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church where she volunteered in their outreach ministries. She was dedicated to her family which she considered her greatest achievement and considered taking care of her special son, Kelley, an honor and privilege. She always made sure he was emotionally and physically cared for and happy until at the age of 66 he went to heaven. She was active in PTA, was a charter member of the Amarillo Association for MR Children and helped establish the first school for special children in Amarillo. Margie was loved by many and will be missed.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L.R. Wynne in 2003 and her son, Kelley Wynne in 2016.

Those left to cherish her memories are her three children, one daughter, Shirley Hollan Nolte and husband Dale of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sons, Jim Wynne and wife Deborah, and Roger Wynne all of Amarillo; one brother, Charles Shirley and wife, Vivian of Shreveport, Louisiana; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of extended family and close friends.

The family would like to thank The Moore Assisted Living Facility and The Ware Nursing Home for providing wonderful and constant care for Margie. A special thanks also to BSA Hospice for caring for her the last few days of her life.
